I’m not usually that good following things. Here, I just push pause, go back to Maya, and since you explain things step by step, I’m able to go on. I’ve done several of these tuts and keep coming back. Maya takes a lot of practice. I don’t always remember everything. However, if you need a lot of extra help there are some very simple tuts in the Maya help. I always use the software help in addition to being here.

Nevermind, you answered it in the next video. It was a bug. It is very annoying.

A nice tutorial so far. One question though. In my reverse rig, if I move the toe joint, everything moves correctly. However, when I undo the action, the toe joint on the main skeleton stays in the same position. If I rotate the Reverse rig, the toe joint on the main skeleton snaps back to where it is suppose to be. Is this a bug in Maya, or did a set something up incorrectly? Thanks!

Great tutorials. However, your website’s search tool doesn’t work properly. No biggie though.

I have a small question, regarding the Leg part 3, so, i am doing the first thing u´r doing in the film, i am pressing insert to snap the pivot to the joint. But it messes up the whole foot, making it really hard to reset. Hence i hafto reopen the file.

I gues i have missed something, but would really apriciate your help, or anyone else reading this.

PreThanks

First of all very, very, very thanks for sharing those tutorials! I'm italian and your english is quite simple to understand!
I wrote to you because I have a problem after the rigging of feet, when I attach the body and joint with smooth bind my mesh will deformed... can I use another type of bind?

I was having some trouble while getting the 'L' to share the same angle as the knee joint. I created the 'L' and followed all the directions but when I parented it with the knee joint and set the rotation to 180º it was shown at a completely different angle. It appears to be at the same angle when it is around 96º. Any advice?

Awesome tutorials man!

Just wondering though, do I have to do all of this to the right leg as well? Or is there a way to mirror the IK and controllers?

Thanks :)

Unfortunately I learn best by doing and think the video concept is OK, but only for those with an animation background. All it really does for me is show me how you do it. For me and those that learn like me, step by step sketch's with explanations then video of the completed steps work much better.

I took two semesters at a local college, but because I tend to think about how and why things are that way (after 5 years of anatomy and personal trainer classes) things happen and just can't watch a video (or listen to a very good instructor talk about something they grew up doing).

IOW, when you are explaining something, tutoring or teaching something to someone that does not know the program and probably has questions, more explanation is better. Video doesn't quite do that.
