I have been watching this video since last Spring. Since I don’t always remember everything I come back and see it again. I have no trouble with pausing the video while I do things to keep up with Maya itself. I have already developed some of my own ways to do things. Of course, the first model did not come out so well. Then the next one was not that good either. Now, I’ve done about 4. The important thing is I have a lot more confidence in Maya. You say it takes a lot of practice to do these and I sure believe it. Thanks for making these long and giving your opinions as well--even if there is a bird looking in--at least the tutorial is more interesting. It takes a lot of patience to learn how to do good modeling. Chris D. 2012-01-06

A. Smith:
Thanks you for the feedback.
I do things very slowly in this video compared to when I work by my self. So I tried to consider that. The problem is that It becomes very long. This tutorial is already very long. So if I should do things slower it would be the longest tutorial ever :)
About the cheese small talk. I can totally understand what you mean. I’m trying to do something more personal than normal tutorials where a boring voice is talking about things. but you almost fell asleep 20 min into the tut. D. 2011-11-07

Ok good tutorial, but in the spirit of being constructively critical, not trying to be disrespectful... you’re literally so click-happy that its making me dizzy. Zoom-in, zoom-out, zoom-in, zoom-out, rotate, zoom-in, zoom-out, REPEAT... I had to search for someone else’s head tutorial halfway through this because, among other issues, if I wanted to review a part of your face to compare with my model, I was spending as much time trying to "pause" your video at the right spot as I was modeling (because we only have ~0.0005 milliseconds before you spin or 3D rotate the head again). While this may not bother others, I don’t think that it’s solely my opinion when I say that 1) if you planned the tutorial better and 2) cut down on the unnecessary fidgeting around and cheesy small-talk, you’d have a brilliantly simple tutorial that would accomplish 10 times more by using 10 times less time. It would have saved you time and made it better for us... that’s all, nothing personal. Keep up the good work. D. 2011-11-07

Hej Dennis. Fedt at du har lavet en masse tutorials. Det er tilsyneladende svært at finde nogle ordentlige videoer på Youtube, så jeg vil få kigget meget på din side.
Tak for det!

Really helpful! I'm in a beginning maya class. In the next class, which will be more advanced, we will be going into character modelling. Thanks, very, very much! D. 2011-04-16
