Nice modeling. Would it be possible to do a full human body?

Hej Dennis

mvh

Thanks for your message :)

No you can not have a mesh where it also reflects extrude. But you can however, do it in some other way.

If you delete half the face, and then make a duplication special by going into the option box, you can here select instance instead of copy. This make the new mesh the same as the old one. And then you should be able to do it.

Find the tool here: Edit > Duplicate special

Cheers

Hi,
I have a problem.

I have REFLECTION on when modelling, and when I move the vertices on one side it mirrors it on the other side automatically.

The problem is, if I extrude in one of the sides, then it won’t extrude in the other side. Do you know why?

I’m using Maya 2012.
Thanks.

Amazing tutorials, by the way! Thank you very much for sharing them, I realize there is much work involved in the making.

Hey Dennis, I’m realy loving Poly Face dude awesome site and realy helped me up my modelling skills.. i also checked out your teachers’ works and i gotta admit I am jealous of you for having being taught by these guys, especially Adam Dewhirst (also has a tutorial on modelling Stylised Heads, which should be put along side this one i think).. when modeling i combine both your techniqeus.. anyway, i was wonder, do you allow members of your site to send you their base meshes for criticism and advice?

cheers :D

Oh no It’s not maya who’s messing up the vertexes. I just create too many edge loops, split to many faces to make it look better. At the end it just gets more complicated and I’ll get al kinds of weird wrinkles in her face :). it’s just my modelling skills

Randy:
Okay that sounds weird. What Maya are you using? It might be that you made some hotkeys for control or something.

Cheers

Great tutorial. Best I’ve ever seen in fact. I bought a book some time ago but this tutorial is WAY better :P But I just can’t hold control of my edges and vertexes :/ I always end up with weird shapes and way too much edges.
